Richard Shane Kealey, 65, of Sierra Vista, died Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2017, after a short but courageous battle with cancer. Shane was born July 27, 1951 in Holdrege, NE to Daniel (deceased) and Mickey Kealey, the second of five children.

After graduating from Buena High School in 1969, Shane joined the Navy where he served for three years. Shane then went on to become “King of the Road” as he made his living as an over the road truck driver. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and cooking - no one could make better salsa than Shane!

His true joy though, came from watching cartoons with the love of his life, his granddaughter, Frankie. Shane is survived by his son, Daniel (Kat) Kealey and granddaughter, Francesca of Sierra Vista; his mother, Mickey Kealey of Macon, Mo.; brothers, Brian Kealey and Kevin Kealey of Excello, Mo.; sister, Colleen Ganske of Macon, Mo. and Suzanne Lentz of Sierra Vista; nephews, Scott (Tanya) Gallagher of Penn., TJ (Stacey) Semple of Mo., and Christopher Kealey of Tucson; nieces Virginia Alexander of Sierra Vista, Misty (Clint) Briseno of Sierra Vista, and Jennifer Kealey of Tucson.

He was preceded in death by his father, Daniel Kealey and his nephew, Jason “JB” Gallagher.

Graveside services will be held Thursday, Feb. 2, 2017 at 10 a.m. at the Southern Arizona Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1300 S. Buffalo Soldier Trail, Sierra Vista, Ariz.

Dear Family,
I was working on my Kealey family tree papers today. I am Nancy Kealey Hoffmann and my brother is Michael Kealey. Mike and Colleen have visited on the phone a few times in the past. My father was Dan's brother George and I may have met some of you at Grandma's house in Holdrege a long time ago. I came across Shane's obituary on line-quite by accident. Mike and I both send our sincere condolences on the loss of your brother and our first cousin. I live in Glendale AZ. I wish I had worked on this a few days earlier as I would have traveled to Sierra Vista for the service and to meet my family. God's love and peace, Nancy Kealey Hoffmann
