Clell Thomas Keith, died unexpectedly on March 10, 2024, in the Canyon Vista Medical Center, Sierra Vista, Arizona.  He was born on October 5, 1944, in Mt. Sterling, Kentucky to Ollie Buford and Bessie Lenora (Bashford) Keith.

Clell graduated from Mt. Sterling High School, Trojan class of 1963.  Following graduation, he served with the United States Army during the Vietnam War in Turkey and Thailand.  After completing his military service, he married Julia Wingate on June 7, 1970.  One child, Brian Thomas, was born on July 27, 1971.  The marriage was dissolved on May 20, 1974.   Clell re-entered military service in June 1974.  Clell married Carolyn Lucius on May 8, 1980, while serving in the United States Army at Fort Campbell, KY.  They would have celebrated 44 years of marriage in May 2024.  Clell retired as a Chief Warrant Officer 3 (CW3) in July 1990.  Following his military service, Clell was a US Army government contractor until his full retirement in 2017.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a nephew Perry Wayne Carpenter of Mt. Sterling, KY.

Surviving in addition to his wife Carolyn, are his brother John Keith of Mt. Sterling, KY, sister Linda Russell of Jasper, IN, sister Peggy Carpenter of Mt. Sterling, KY, stepdaughter Alexandria Lucius of Tucson, AZ, daughter Amanda Zvonic of Austin, TX, biological son Brian Thomas Begley of Covington, KY, and nieces and nephews.

Interment will be on March 27, 2024, in the Southern Arizona Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery in Sierra Vista, Arizona following a military honors ceremony.  A memorial service will be held at Spring Street Baptist Church in October 2024.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests donation to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.  He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
