Wanda Labanow, 96, of Sierra Vista, formerly of Washington D.C., was peacefully called home by the Lord our GOD on December 14, 2017. Miss Wanda Labanow was born in Crucible, Pennsylvania on September 5, 1921 to Charles Labanow and Viola Lanchak.
Wanda moved to Washington D.C. after completing two years of business college. She worked several years for the government before starting her career with American Telephone & Telegraph Company. She retired after 34 years. Her final position was Executive Secretary.
Her brother, John Labanow, brought her to Sierra Vista after she suffered a mild stroke in 2008. She was the greatest sister, aunt, and great aunt anyone could ever have. She will be missed. We know she is in a better place now.
She is preceded in death and welcomed home by her mother, father, two brothers, and a sister.
Wanda is survived by her brother, John Labanow; niece, Patricia Miller; nephews, Richard Labanow, David Labanow, and Michael Labanow; four grand nephews, three grand nieces, three great grand nephews, and six great grand nieces.
Before being cremated, a private family viewing and service was done on December 19, 2017 at Jensen's Sierra Vista Mortuary.
