Theodore Condon Obituary

Theodore “Ted” Condon, 90, passed away peacefully on April 28, 2019 in Sierra Vista, Arizona. He was born in Boone Iowa on December 5th.

Ted was an Eagle Scout as a boy and joined the Army at age 17, serving for more than 20 years. He fought in the Korean and Vietnam Wars where he received a Purple Heart and Bronze Star. After his military career, Ted worked in the Civil Service for more than 20 years at Ft. Huachuca and was active with the Sierra Evangelical Lutheran Church (SELC) in Sierra Vista for more than 40 years.

Ted was kind, generous, and very supportive of those close to him. His hobbies included archery and bowling. As a member of the local bowling team, he won numerous trophies; after he retired, he worked at the bowling alley on Ft. Huachuca. Ted was always a proud, hardworking man who gave his heart and support to his daughters.

He will be missed by all who knew him. The family would like to express their thanks to Golden Oaks Assisted Living, who cared for Ted and Casa de la Paz Hospice.

Ted is survived by his daughters, Carolyn (Dan) Tower, Linda (Jay) John, Shirley Canter, and Barbara (Marvin) Tomme; along with numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Vernon Condon, of Boone, Iowa.

Ted was predeceased by his wife Hideko “Betty” Condon.

A celebration of Ted’s life will occur on May 10th 2019 at 11 AM at the Sierra Evangelical Lutheran Church, 101 N. Lenzner Ave, Sierra Vista AZ. Military honors at the church following the service.
