Stephen J. Tkach Jr., son of Stephen J. Tkach Sr. and Catherine Tkach, of Dallas, Pennsylvania, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, June 8, 2018. Stephen was born on May 18, 1933.
He attended King’s College graduating in 1933. Stephen held the rank of Senior Master Sergeant and was a 32 year Vietnam War veteran. He was awarded the distinguished Flying Cross and Air Medal for Gallantry, awarded multiple Meritorious Service Medals, Commendation Medal, and Achievement Medal. He accumulated over 15,000 flying hours as a C-130 Loadmaster Flight Evaluator.
Stephen was a member of the Knights of Columbus and an active volunteer in his church, serving in the Homebound Ministry at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church.
Stephen is survived by his children, Sandra Tkach Schmidt, Carol Tkach, Sharon Tkach King, Stephen J. Tkach, Desiree Tkach; and 5 grandchildren.
A funeral Mass will be held at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church, 800 Taylor Drive, Sierra Vista, Arizona, on Wednesday, June 20 at 9:00 a.m.
