Sandra Kay (Dickinson) Dalby, 66, passed away to a better world on Jan. 30, 2018. Sandi was born in Klamath Falls, Oregon to John and Dorothy Dickinson on April 1, 1951, and spent all her young life there.
After graduating from Klamath Union High School in 1969, she attended Oregon State University. In April of 1970, she married Robert D. Dalby, also from Klamath Falls and attending Oregon State. When Robert graduated, he became a soldier and they began to travel. From Oregon, they first went to Columbus, Georgia; then to Tacoma, Washington; followed by Ozark, Alabama; Newport News, Virginia; Anchorage, Alaska; back to Columbus, Georgia; then to El Paso Texas. While in El Paso, Sandi attended the University of Texas El Paso where she graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing just before Christmas, 1983.
The travels continued to Savannah, Georgia, where she worked in a Catholic Hospital, then to Jacksonville, Arkansas working at the Arkansas Children’s Hospital. After four years in Arkansas, the family moved to San Diego, California where Sandi became a home health nurse. When her husband finally retired from the Army in 1993, they moved to Yuma, Arizona.
Sandi spent the next eleven years there as a high school nurse. Bob’s job took him to Sierra Vista, Arizona where Sandi spent the last seven years of her career as a school nurse at Pueblo Del Sol elementary school. She retired in 2011 due to health reasons and spent the rest of her life at home with her husband.
After nearly 48 years of marriage she leaves behind her husband, Robert; four children, Daniel, Krista, Ryann Marie (James) Hangsleben, and Derik (Michelle); and four grandchildren, Kyle, Kyla, Caden, and Kayleigh.
