Rosemary Linda Widhalm, 73, of Sierra Vista, was raised to new life with our Lord on July 22, 2017 following a long, courageous battle against cancer. Linda was born in Billings, Montana on Aug. 27, 1943.
After graduating from Billings Central Catholic High School she worked as a telephone operator until she met her husband Tony. They were married in 1966 and lived in Billings until moving to Sierra Vista in 2001. Linda was a loving, generous and kind wife, mom, daughter, sister, grandma and friend. She dearly loved our Lord and always looked forward to Mass, her Bible study and faith sharing groups, and her close friends there. She was fun-loving and greatly enjoyed large family gatherings, meals and holidays. She liked to travel and made several trips to Hawaii and other places of interest with her family, sisters, and friends.
She was a member of Our Lady of the Mountains Young at Heart ministry and participated in numerous trips and events with that group. Linda also loved to shop, including thrift stores and yard sales. She enjoyed arts and crafts and, along with her sister, worked on many creative projects to give to family and friends.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Lino and Lorenza Romero, her son; Scott, and an older brother; Jose. She is survived by her husband; Anthony (Tony), daughters; Andrea (Will) Casey, Danielle Widhalm, and son Chris; six grandchildren: Drake, Brennan, Catherine, Andrew (AJ), Sophia and Lucy, sisters; Pat (Gary) Wagner, MaryAnn Howard and Lupe Brown, brothers; Jake Romero, and David (Rosanna) Romero; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws, and many, many friends.
Services will be Saturday, July 29 at Our Lady of the Mountains Church: Rosary at 11:15 a.m. and Mass at noon. Interment will follow at Southern Arizona Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery at a later date. Memorials may be made in Linda’s name to Care Net Pregnancy Center of Cochise County.
