Rosemarie Anna Walston
07/10/1941 - 08/08/2024
Rose passed away surrounded by her family on August 8, 2024. She was born July 10th, 1941 in Pforzheim, Germany. She has lived in the Greater Sierra Vista Area for over fifty years.
She witnessed the brutal realities of war as a child and this made her the strong person she was even at the end of her life. Those experiences gave her the advantage of being the independent, strong, kind, loving, sensitive, understanding, humorous, person that all who knew her loved so very much. She raised an exemplary family who loved her as she loved them. She had many friends and acquaintances from her long career in the grocery business and truly enjoyed knowing so many different people from all walks of life. She loved among many other things spending time with family, shopping, watching baseball, good German food, putting in a good days work, her membership in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and especially her doggies.
She was preceded in death by her father, Wilhelm Merkle, mother Anna Merkle, sister Anneliese Coblenzer, Brother Horst Merkle, Peter and many friends. She is survived by her sisters Margit Maxwell, (Ken,) of Sierra Vista, and Sibylle Lipps, (Werner,) of Germany, first and second husbands Leroy Walston, and Pat Hays, daughters Sandra Moncayo, (Mike,) Jane Foote, (Darryl,) son Marc Walson, (Jenny,) eight grandchildren, Cody, Shane, and Nikki Moncayo, Darrick, Shauna, and Dustin Foote, and Kyle and Randi Walston, nine great-grandchildren, and many friends.
A service to remember and honor Rose will be held Saturday September 7th, 2024, 1:00 P. M. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 2100 E. Yaqui Drive, Sierra Vista, Arizona.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to any local animal shelter or St. Judes Children’s Hospital.
