Robert (Bob) D. Stain, 87, of Sierra Vista, Arizona, passed away peacefully on March 22, 2017 at Via Elegante Assisted Living, Sierra Vista. Bob was born April 30, 1929, at Mulberry Grove, Illinois and later moved with his parents, Kermit and Irene (Hubbartt) Stain, to Sullivan, Illinois.
He married Kay Johnson on June 24, 1951 at Bethany, Illinois. He served four years in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War and attended Millikin University and New York University. He worked 18 years at A. E. Staley Company in Decatur, IL and retired as an Executive Vice President from Continental Grain Company after 14 years.
Bob is survived by his wife, Kay, of 65 years, daughter Karen, son David, daughter Kim, and son Greg - their spouses and families; including 7 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Rosemary.
Bob and Kay were active members of Sierra Vista United Methodist Church.
