Richard A Bermel

Richard A. (Rick) Bermel passed away February 16th, 2018 at his home in Sierra Vista, Arizona, at the age of 71 years old. Rick was born along with his twin sister Diane, in Detroit, Michigan on October 29, 1946 and grew up in Randall, Minnesota.

He graduated from Little Falls Senior High school in 1964. He served in the U.S. Army from 1966 to 1986 which included tours of duty in Vietnam where he was severely injured in 1967, and was a Purple Heart recipient. When Rick retired he was serving at Ft. Huachuca near Sierra Vista, Arizona., and it was here Rick and his wife Barbara made their home since.

Rick Bermel is survived by a son Troy Bermel, of Minneapolis, Minnesota, and a daughter Lori (Robert) Westerhouse of Lonsdale, Minnesota. He is also survived by two grandsons, Brock Bermel of Dayton, Ohio. And Ryan Westerhouse of Lonsdale Minnesota. Two sisters, Diane (Rich) Dahl of Coon Rapids, Minnesota, and Jennie (Patrick) Hennessy of Grand Marais, Minnesota. A brother Gerry (Betty) Bermel of Fergus Falls, Minnesota, and sister-in-law Sue Bermel of Eden Prairie, Minnesota.

His birth mother, Virginia Bermel; parents, Richard and Eva Bermel; and a bother Ron Bermel preceded him in death. Since his passing, his beloved wife Barbara has passed in April.

Military Service will be May 18th at 11:00am for both Rick and Barb at the Chapel of Southern Arizona Veterans Memorial Cemetery on Buffalo Soldier Trail in Sierra Vista.
