Peggy E. Lingo, 82, of Hereford, made her final journey to be with her Lord Jesus on August 15, 2018. Peggy was born February 23, 1936, she spent the last 40 years of her life in the Sierra Vista and Hereford area.
She worked as a bookkeeper for many years in her own business as well as for a few prominent businesses in Sierra Vista until her retirement.
Always passionate about education, Peggy was very involved in the youth and adult education ministry at Sierra Vista United Methodist Church. She chaired the Education committee and facilitated ESL and Citizenship training. Hospitality was her greatest gift as she prepared and served many soup suppers and fed the homeless in the park. She also had a heart for Prison Ministries, disadvantaged children she blessed by hand-sewing and filling care packages, and served as a chaplain at the former and current hospital at Sierra Vista.
She is preceded in death by her daughter, Sandra Babich (George).

Lingo; her children: Roy Lingo (Shelly), Tammy White, Rose Montano (Martin), Joe White III (Becki); seven grandchildren: Brandon, Haley, Richard, Marcus (Christina), Sean, Jenifer and Jake; nine great-grandchildren: Jordan, Caleb, Audrey, Scarlett, Bella, Corbin, Annalise, Sofia and Bella.
A gathering to celebrate Peggy’s life will be held on Saturday August 18 at 1 p.m. at the Sierra Vista United Methodist Church – 3225 St. Andrews Dr, Sierra Vista AZ.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the SVUMC earmarked for the Citizenship and ESL Classes in Peggy’s name.
