Eleuteria 'Olga' Galindo, 83, passed away on Monday, April 14th in Sierra Vista, AZ. She follows her beloved husband, Rogelio 'Roy' Galindo in to the blessed afterlife.
Olga was born in Naco, AZ on February 20, 1943 to Maria Garcia. Maria met and married a soldier from Ft. Huachuca, Charles Gibson in 1948 who then adopted Olga as his own. Olga Gibson moved to Sierra Vista in 1953 and attended the local public schools. In 1959, while attending Buena High School, she met her first husband Fernando Valles with whom she shared a daughter, Veronica Valles. They divorced in 1968 and she moved back to Sierra Vista with her daughter in 1968. She worked for the Valles family at La Casita and learned her passion for cooking in that kitchen. In 1971, she met the love of her life, Rogelio and they had two sons, Rogelio Jr. and Marcos.
In 1980, she was offered a job at Raymond W. Bliss and worked there for 30 years before retiring.
Olga was a women of unquestionable faith and love for her Lord and Savior. She was smart, witty and loved everyone she had ever met. No one was ever a stranger to her, just a friend she hadn't met yet. She had an eternal optimism that was contagious to everyone around her.
No one could be hungry around Olga. Food was her love language and it was enjoyed by everyone , from her family, their friends and everyone in between. She would often volunteer at the Good Neighbor Alliance. Nana as she was affectionately known was grandmother to 11 and great grandmother to 12.
Services will be held Saturday April 19th at 5pm at Gethasemane Church 233 N. Canyon Dr.
