Nancy Dickens Battreall passed away in her home Sunday morning the 18th of November. Nancy was born in Hays, Kansas on May 4, 1930.
She and her family moved to Manhattan, Kansas where she grew up and attended Kansas State University and was a member of Alpha Delta Pi. While there, she met and married her husband and embarked on a 30 year adventure as an Army wife: traveling the world and serving her country.
When her husband retired, they traveled the United States and settled in Sierra Vista. Nancy loved this community and served it through the Sierra Vista Womens Club and becoming involved in local government.
She was former mayor Richard Archer’s campaign manager.
To all who knew her, she was a strong and gracious woman who was always ready to lend a hand and help others.
She was a V-Cap volunteer for several years. Nancy was also a very humble and private person, and there will be no services.
Anyone wishing to remember her is asked to make a donation in her name to the Sierra Vista animal shelter, the local schools, or other local charity.
Nancy is survived by her cat Stuart, her daughter Leigh Norris, and her granddaughter Ashley Grove.
