Marlana Steiner passed away on Wednesday, January 16th, at her home in Sierra Vista. Marlana was born on January 31, 1936 in Baldwin, Iowa, to Martin and Helen Weets.
She was a graduate of Maquoketa High School in Maquoketa, Iowa. She married David Steiner on September 20, 1955 in Maquoketa, Iowa, and was divorced in 2011, moving to Sierra Vista afterwards.
Marlana worked at Ensign Coil in Bellevue, Iowa, Andrew Community High School as a cook, Noby’s Restaurant in Maquoketa, Iowa, and Ron Ann’s Floral Shoppe in Maquoketa.
She enjoyed the outdoors, nature, animal life, her Bible, and Bible study. Marlana is preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Stanley Weets; and a sister, Betty Mott.
Those left to honor Marlana’s memory include her two children, Sharon Steiner of Lost Nation, Iowa, and her son, Kevin Steiner of Hereford, Arizona; along with a brother, Marvin Weets of Morrison, Illinois; sisters, Deloris Newell of Maquoketa, Iowa, Sharon Kreutner of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Kaye West (Bill) of Mesa, Arizona; several grandchildren, Rosetta Steiner, Sarah Steiner, Kevin Steiner Jr., Crystal Steiner, Mason Steiner; and many great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held on January 31st from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Lost Nation, Iowa (401 Main St., Lost Nation IA 52254), and burial will be in the Smithtown Cemetery in Lost Nation, Iowa.
