With humble acceptance of the Lord’s will, we share the passing of Joyce Marie Summers. Joyce passed peacefully and at peace in her sleep Dec 27th, 2022. She was the beloved wife of Tom, mother of Carmen, sister to Janet, Victor, and Sherri. Joyce is preceded in death by her mother Lois Wilma (Hunt) Bowman and father Harold Jr. Bowman. That morning had a beautiful sunrise, and we believe she had a grand entrance to heaven. Joyce retired from the Department of Defense after working for the Intelligence School on Ft. Huachuca for many years. She made many friends and enjoyed working there. Hiking in the mountains and trails was a passion for her and she loved the people who hiked with her. Her Jeep license plate number was MTNHIKR. Joyce will forever live in our hearts.

There will an internment service 20 January 2023 at the Southern Arizona Veterans’ Cemetery. Guests should arrive between 11:30 and 11:40 for a short remembrance at 12:00.  

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer society or the Alzheimer’s society.
