Josephina Rodriguez, 66, of Palominas, passed away on June 25, 2017. Josie was born Josephina Diaz Hernandez in Bisbee, Arizona on April 9, 1951. She married Jose “Joe” Rodriguez on April 12, 1975.
In 1979, they relocated to Wyoming with their two eldest children, Alicia and Diego, while Josie was still pregnant with their youngest daughter, Kristy. They remained in Gillette, Wyoming for 35 years. Josie loved to travel. She was a homemaker, loving mother, and dedicated caretaker to Alicia, their handicapped daughter. In 2014, Joe retired from the coal mines of Wyoming and they moved back to Arizona. Joe passed away on Aug. 26, 2015. Josie remained in their Palominas home until her passing one year and 10 months later.
Josie is preceded in death by her parents, Manuel Hernandez and Christina Diaz Hernandez, her daughter, Alicia Rodriguez, and her husband of 40 years, Jose Rodriguez. Josie is survived by her son Diego Rodriguez, her daughter Kristy Tindell, her brother Manuel Hernandez, her sisters Gloria Hernandez and Rita Hernandez, numerous grandchildren and one great grandchild.
A Rosary with Memorial Mass will be held for Josie on July 19, 2017 at St. Patrick’s Church in Bisbee at 8:30 a.m.
The family asks that everyone wear something red, as this was Josie’s favorite color. A reception will immediately follow Mass.
