John William Malarchik

John William Malarchik, 58, of Whetstone (Huachuca City), Arizona was born on May 10th, 1965 and passed away on October 15th, 2023. He is survived by his wife, Brenda Malarchik (nee Splettstoesser), his sister-in-law, Edith Splettstoesser, brother-in-law, Brad Holman, and many cousins.
John was an Electrical Engineer for ISEC, Information Systems Engineering Command, on Fort Huachuca. John was dedicated to his work and was well liked by his superiors and co-workers.
He enjoyed a variety of interests and hobbies. He was an Eagle Scout. He liked to go hiking and camping and owned a canoe, tent, camping gear, fishing gear, and designed and built his snowshoes. John was experienced in carpentry, construction, auto mechanics, landscaping, and cooking. He was always reading technical publications, world news, nonfiction, and cook books.
John loved our pets, two cats, Francis and Cleo. He had a great respect and love for animals. John was a gentle, quiet, intellectual man. He never complained about anything and never said a disparaging remark about anyone. He never doubted his faith. John’s devotion to God never faltered.
John’s funeral mass will be on Friday, October 20th, 2023, at St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church in Sierra Vista, Arizona. Rosary is at 10:00 a.m.; the Mass, 10:30 a.m. Interment in the church columbarium, 11:30 a.m. Following, a luncheon is served in Madonna Hall.
