In Memoriam: John Bernie Jr.   1945-2026

  John Bernie Jr., 81 of Herford Arizona, passed away on June 16th 2026, with his wife, Mary Corbishley Bernie, by his side.

Born in 1945 to Mary T.E.R.S.A.G.O. and John Bernie Senior, John was a man of integrity and kindness. He served with distinction in the Morris County, New Jersey, Sheriff's Department, a career reflecting his lifelong commitment to helping others. An avid traveler and skilled woodworker, he spent many years exploring the country before making his home in Hereford, Arizona, where he found great joy in gardening. 

John is survived by his wife, Mary; his son, Jonathan Bernie of California; and his daughter, Dawn Marie Bernie Ryan of New Jersey.

Honors and committal will be held on July 9, 2026, at the Southern Arizona Veterans Memorial Cemetery at 1000. He will be deeply missed by all who had the honor of knowing him.
