Jocelynn Torres Obituary

Jocelynn Jean Torres, 31, died on October 3, 2017. Jocelynn was born March 1, 1986 in Vermillion, South Dakota.

She was always a very smart, active, and cute child. She was baptized at Vangen Lutheran Church in Mission Hill, South Dakota. She attended Sunday school and elementary school in Volin, Vermillion, Centerville and Canton, South Dakota. At the end of the school year in 1995, she moved with her mother to Sierra Vista to start a new life in a warm climate.

She was very active on the Sierra Vista swim team, breaking a record, and in the Sierra Vista Riding Club, winning many awards. When she was 15, she met her “Dad.” They had a very close and special love for each other.

She graduated from Buena High School with a 4.0 GPA. She attended Cochise College, receiving an Associates Degree in Counseling and a certificate in business.

Jocelynn married Tony Torres in November of 2013 by the ocean in Puerto Rico. She finished management training at Texas Roadhouse, but was diagnosed with cancer as soon as she finished training. She put up a year-long brave fight, but received her wings on October 3, 2017.
