01/16/1960 - 02/03/2022

Jeffery “Chuck” Charles Mack, 62, of Sierra Vista, died Thursday, February 3, 2022.

Chuck passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family.

Chuck was born January 16, 1960 in Elba, Alabama to Charles Sanford Mack and Ethel Janelle Lownds (Whitlock).

Chuck was preceded in death by his father, Charles, in 2002 and his brother, Danny, in 1959.

Chuck is survived by his mother, Janelle (Roy) Lownds, sister, Sandra Moss, nieces, Nicole Hargraves and Brandi (Jeremy) French, great-nephews, Martin “Alex” Hargraves and Ashton French, great-nieces, Marai French and Layla French, and many wonderful friends he considered family.

Chuck was such a caring and giving man as evidenced by his lifelong nursing career. He graduated with a ASN from George C Wallace Community College in Dothan, AL. Settling in Fort Lauderdale, FL, which became his permanent home for the next 30+ years. He worked as a CCRN in his quest to help people in need. He transitioned from hands on nursing to the hospice care arena working for VITAS Hospice in management for the next 20+ years. In 2019 he relocated to Sierra Vista, AZ to be of assistance to his aging mother and stepfather, and continued hospice management at Valor HospiceCare.

Chuck touched many lives wherever he lived from Alabama, through his time in New Orleans and certainly in the place he called home, Fort Lauderdale. Even after his short time in Sierra Vista, AZ he enriched the lives of all of those lucky to have worked with him. The world has lost a truly caring and compassionate person.

He will be loved and remember by all of those lucky enough to have known him. Chuck was an angel to our family and is greatly missed! We are grateful for his loving example of kindness and generosity, and for his unconditional love. We know we will be with him again someday and can feel his presence in our hearts.

The family has chosen to do a private celebration of Chuck’s life.
