Herbert Hensley Obituary

Herbert Leroy Hensley, 76, a longtime resident of Sierra Vista, Arizona went home to be with the Lord on July 27, 2018. Born in Kenton, Ohio to Orbin and Edna Hensley on May 22, 1942. He was the second oldest of six children.

He fell in love with his wife life Judy at the age of 21 marrying December 23, 1963. Herb, as his family and friends called him was a kind, gentle, yet strong and amazing man.

He served in the United States Army from 1959-1981 which included two combat tours in the Vietnam War. He and Judy retired in Sierra Vista, Arizona. He went on to work in Civil Service from which he retired in 1995. Herb was also a longtime member of the Masonic Lodge #53. Herb also loved auctioneering and was the proud owner of HLH Auction Company for many years.

He touched more lives than we will ever know and will be greatly missed by all that knew him.

Preceded in death by his parents, Orbin and Edna Hensley; and brother Jim Hensley. He is remembered fondly and survived by wife of 54 years Judy Hensley. Brother Don Hensley, Sisters May Steel and Sharron Kay, and brother Steve Hensley. Three daughters and their husbands, Tamela and Todd Voter, Tina and Ryan Butler, Paula and David Crista. He also was blessed with 11 grandchildren, Jennifer Tovar, Haylee Cave, Kelsey Voter, BreAnna Estala, Matthew Voter, Andrew Hauser, Kayley Crista, Mikaela Crista, Zane Crista, Carly Crista, and Caden Crista; as well as 4 Great-grandchildren Sophia Tovar, Lillianna Tovar, Kinsley Cave, and Crew Cave.

A private service honoring Herb will be held at the Fort Huachuca cemetery and a celebration of life honoring Herb will be publicized and held at a later date. In lieu of condolences, please make donations to the Wounded Warrior Project in honor of Herbert L. Hensley.
