Georgia Marie McLaughlin, a 48-year resident of Sierra Vista, passed away in her home on January 2, 2019. She was born June 27, 1952 in Albuquerque, New Mexico to Frank and Helen McLaughlin.
She earned a diploma in Fashion Merchandising from Albuquerque Technical Vocational Institute and an associate’s degree in Applied Sciences from Cochise College. Georgia loved to collect rocks, listen to music and play online computer games with friends around the country. S
he was involved in community service, volunteered at Cochise Community College and was an advocate for animals. She truly loved her pets. Georgia was a strong, independent woman who lived a very simple life on her own terms. She was a scrapper and fought for herself and others who she identified with.
She was predeceased by her parents and her brother F. Blair McLaughlin. Georgia was truly grateful for the support of her friends and especially her neighbors Al and Dora Suarez.
There will be a gathering in the Horace Steele Conference Room at Cochise College on Saturday, March 2, 2019 between 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. to remember Georgia.
