George Leonard Kraft Jr.

SIERRA VISTA, AZ - George Kraft Jr., 66, passed away on January 18th, 2025 surrounded by his loving family. Born on May 4, 1958, in Germany to George Leonard Kraft Sr. and Marianne Kraft. George lived a life devoted to his family, his country, and his community.
A proud graduate of Buena High School in 1976, George enlisted in the U.S. Army immediately after graduation, serving his country with dedication for four years. Following his active-duty service, he continued to contribute through the Army Reserves and later in civil service, retiring after an impressive 37 years of combined service.
George had a passion for baseball and softball, spending many joyful years playing and coaching his daughters, passing on his love for the game. He cherished the outdoors and could often be found camping, fishing, and making memories with his family.
George was preceded in death by his parents, George and Marianne Kraft, and his sister, Barbara Adams. He is survived by his beloved wife of 45 years, Marjorie Kraft; his three daughters, Shannon (Matthew) Szymanski, Vanessa Lopez, and Michelle (Mitchell) Brawner; and nine grandchildren, Savannah (Christian), Jaakob, Jaadyn, Gavin, Ethan, Leah, Alyssa, Armando, and Giovanni. Brother, William Syre, and beloved mother-in-law, Hide Ormsby.
A celebration of George’s life will be held at Tombstone Brewery West End, located at 332 N Garden Ave, Sierra Vista, Az on Sunday, January 26, 2025 at 2:00p.
A graveside service will be held Monday, January 27, 2025 at 2 p.m. at Southern Arizona Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1300 S Buffalo Soldier Trail, Sierra Vista, Az.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in the name of George Leonard Kraft Jr. to St Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
George will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. His legacy of love, dedication, and strength will live on through his family and the countless lives he touched. The family finds comfort in knowing George is now resting in the arms of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
