Evan Clyde MacKay

04/03/1949 - 01/05/2022

Evan "Mac" Clyde MacKay passed away on Wednesday, January 5th of 2022 at the age of 72. He was at home and at peace, accompanied by family. Evan was born in April of 1949 in Fallon, Nevada, to Lincoln and Beverly MacKay. He loved learning and reading, and was a member of the science club at Henley High School, where he graduated in 1967. Evan was enlisted into the U.S. Army in 1969 and served for 3 years during the Vietnam War. He was transferred to the active reserves in Fort Huachuca, Arizona, and remained in the area for the rest of his life. He developed a mastery in construction and contributed greatly to the advancement of the area for 50 years, and took great pride in his work. As part of his caring nature, Evan went above and beyond in helping his community and friends, and touched many lives with his unconditional service and support to anyone in need. He was a lover of music, science, the pursuit of knowledge, and perfecting his trade. At the end of his life, Evan became the victim of cancer, as well as the many other long lasting effects of a life full of hard work. He was able to remain at home until the end, with his son as his caretaker. He is survived by his daughter, Lalaynia MacKay, and son, Dallin MacKay, his five grandchildren, and his three siblings, Martin MacKay, Jim MacKay, and Kathy (MacKay) Stimpson.
