Eleanor "Ellie" Grace Giles, loving mother, grandmother, and friend passed away on May 20, 2023 due to complications from pneumonia. She is reunited at last with her husband Doug and two sons, Tim and Jamie, after living a long and vibrant life among family and friends.

Ellie was born in Hawthorn, California, the daughter of Helen and Louis Rogers on December 12, 1932. She spent most of her childhood helping her parents and siblings manage the family ranch in Turlock, California. In 1950, she married Douglas Myrle Giles and would go on to have three children together. Their close and loving marriage lasted until Doug's passing in 2008 due to Alzheimer's disease.

A lover of fun and travel, Ellie became a dear friend of many everywhere she lived. When not attending gatherings, going to church, or playing bridge, she and her husband would climb into their motor home and take trips across the country either alone or with their grandchildren, whom they both loved very much.

Ellie is survived by her daughter Kristi, grandsons Nathan and Brian, granddaughters Amanda and Stacy, and great-granddaughter Ava.

A funeral service is scheduled for 2pm on Friday June 16th at the Arizona State Veterans Cemetery Chapel in Sierra Vista, Arizona. We invite anyone who wishes to say goodbye and celebrate the life of Ellie Giles to attend. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
