Doris Halsey, 73. The Halsey Family is broken-hearted to announce the passing of Doris Halsey. Doris was born in Prineville, Oregon in 1945, where she lived until she married her childhood sweetheart William Halsey, then a Sergeant serving in the US Air Force.
After Bill’s service ended in 1967, she, Bill, and their three children, Tony, Claudia, and Shannon, moved to La Grande, Oregon, where after a few years a daughter, Maggie, was born. Doris remained in La Grande until 2010, when she and Bill moved to Sierra Vista, Arizona. Doris’ life profoundly changed in 1970, when she was baptized and began to work within her church. She served selflessly as a true Christian mother and worker within the Churches of Christ that she and her family attended.
She always showed sincere care of others ahead of herself and deeply touched many people’s lives.
Doris is survived by her husband Bill, four children, eight grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
A memorial celebration is scheduled for Saturday, May 18, at 10 a.m., at the Sierra Vista Church of Christ, 815 El Camino Real, Sierra Vista, AZ. All are invited to attend and a reception will follow.
