Charlotte Virginia (Tuttle) Syson, 87, a long-time resident of Bisbee, passed away at the age of 87 on Thursday, May 2, 2019. She was born in Williamston, Michigan on October 15, 1931 and moved to Bisbee with her husband, Doug, and their four children in 1976.
Charlotte lived her life with joy; her love for both Jesus Christ and people was so simple it was profound. She was very active at First Baptist Church in Bisbee where one of her greatest joys was working with children. She led the AWANA children’s program for over 30 years and oversaw the Angel Tree program, providing Christmas presents to children whose parents are incarcerated.
She was involved at various times with Huachuca Oaks Baptist Camp as counselor and nurse. Charlotte also used her employment as a nurse to share her love for Jesus in the Copper Queen Hospital and at the Douglas Correctional Facility until she retired.
Charlotte was preceded in death by her husband, Doug, and an infant son. She is survived by her four children, Dan (Cheryl) Syson, Paul (Claudia) Syson, Steve (Donna) Syson and Denise (Jerome) Shoemaker, along with 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Viewing will be at the Jensen Funeral Home from 5-8p.m. on Tuesday, May 7, 2019.
A memorial service will be held at First Baptist Church in Bisbee at 10a.m. on Wednesday, May 8, 2019.
