Carl J. Wade, 83, of Sierra Vista, Arizona, went to be with his Lord on April 12, 2018. Carl, the son of the late Bennie (Gossett) and Otha Wade, was born in Gatlinburg, Tennessee.
After graduation from high school, Carl entered the U.S. Army and subsequently became a member of the 82nd Airborne. After discharge, he went to work for Cincinnati Milacron, where he got his education at the University of Cincinnati and Milacron. Carl retired from there after 37 years.
Carl was a member of J.B. Covert Masonic Lodge #437, in Ohio for 54 years. After retirement, he was also past president of the Edgewater Club, a retirement community, in Englewood, Florida.
In his youth, Carl became involved in woodworking and went on to make specialized pieces of furniture. He also enjoyed carving, boating, fishing, and travel.
After moving to Sierra Vista in 2008, Carl became a member of Sierra Vista United Methodist Church, where he enjoyed participating with members of the weekly Spit and Shine work group.
Carl is survived by his loving wife, Shirley (Friedman) of 61 years; his son, Troy and wife, Sandra of Prescott, Arizona; his brother, Edgar of Maryville, Tennessee; his brother in law Richard Friedman and his wife Dorothy; and many other family members and special friends.
Services will be held April 21, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the Sierra Vista United Methodist Church, 3225 St. Andrew Drive, Sierra Vista, AZ 85650.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to SVUMC or to Casa De La Paz Hospice at 185 S. Moorman Ave, Sierra Vista, AZ 85635.
