Betty Williams Obituary

Betty Minette Williams, 92, passed peacefully at home with loved ones at her bedside on Friday, May 3, 2019. Born in Baltimore, Maryland, she resided in Hereford and Sierra Vista during the last 59 years.

Betty was the wife of Major Haskell G. Williams for 50 years. Loving mother to Geneene Stewart and her husband Harold of Palm Bay, Florida, Karen Egner and husband Richard of Sierra Vista, Terry Williams formally of Woodbridge, Virginia; grandmother to Dawn Culp of Melbourne, Florida, Cheryl Deeter of Melbourne, Florida, Dori Salisbury of San Antonio, Texas, Robert Lundren of Las Cruces, New Mexico, LeAnne Lundren of Sierra Vista, James Williams and Nick Williams of Woodbridge, Virginia; 18 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Haskell Williams and son Terry Williams.

Betty volunteered at the Fort Huachuca Hospital as a gray lady during the 1960s, she was politically active during the Barry Goldwater Republican Party campaign canvassing neighborhoods and working with voter registration.

The family wants to thank all the staff from Bayada Health Care, Prestige Assisted Living, and special thanks to Carolyn Gray and her staff at Valor Hospice.

Visitation will be family only with graveside services held on Thursday, May 9 at 11:00 a.m. at the Fort Huachuca Cemetery.
