Bessie M Shugart

Bessie M. Shugart, 92, went to be with the Lord on June 3, 2017 surrounded by family. Bessie was a longtime resident of Cochise County. She was born in Oplin, Texas in April of 1925, and was the fifth of 10 children.

She lived a full life serving the Lord, being a rancher’s wife, cowgirl, mother, grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. She was very active in her church and a longtime member of the Douglas Cowbelles.

Bessie was a mother to four children; Virginia Samuelson, Button Shugart, Doris Balke and Mollie Spurlock.

She touched a lot of lives with her love for the Lord and left many lasting memories.

Bessie is survived by two sisters and many, many friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James (Jim) Shugart and her grandson, Luke Shugart.

A memorial service will be held on July 14, 2017 at 1:30 p.m. at the Country Estates Baptist Church in Sierra Vista, Arizona.
