Anthony Phillip Simpson moved on from this world to the next on April 6, 2025. He was 31 years old. Anthony loved to cook, and he was great at it! He took pride in every dish and enjoyed seeing the faces of those savoring each bite of his specialty dishes. He loved fast cars and great music. Behind the wheel was where he found his solace. As a young boy, Anthony enjoyed skateboarding and airsoft with lifelong friend Alsace (Al) Dyer. Anthony was drawn to the beauty of the high country. Raised in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina, he then
traveled west to the majestic peaks of the Dragoon Mountains of Arizona, where he enjoyed looking for old mines to explore. This is where he currently resided and felt most at home. Above all, Anthony loved his family: his mom, Shelly Evans, his dad, Mike Evans, and his little sister. Pehton Simpson, brother Taylor Smith, Grandmother Nancy Spainhour, Grandfather Richard Simpson, Grandmother Sharon Simpson, and many friends he considered family knew him. Mourn his loss, but know that he is at peace in the arms of Jesus. Like many of us, Anthony faced mental health challenges in his life, but he worked hard to overcome them and find the peace and contentment he craved. In the end, those challenges became too hard to bear. His family encourages all who had the pleasure of knowing Anthony, and even those who did not, to tell the people you love that you’re there for them, hear them, and that together you can work through those difficult days and celebrate the victorious ones. This is what Anthony would want for all of us. Anthony’s life will be celebrated on Saturday, April 26, 4 p.m., at Jensen’s Sierra Vista Mortuary, 5515 AZ-92, Sierra Vista, AZ. In lieu of flowers, please donate to your local chapter of Alcoholics Anonymous in Anthony’s name, so that his life can make a difference to others struggling with the devastating effects of alcoholism.
