Jeanne Spindler Armstrong

 

Jeanne Armstrong, a 13 year Hereford resident, passed away at Sierra Vista Regional Health Center on August 20, 2014.

Jeannie graduated Hanna More Academy in Reisterstown, Maryland in 1960.  In 1969 she moved from Maryland to Wyoming with her husband where they started a livestock, outfitting and ranching business.  In the 1980s they moved to the Oregon coast where Jeannie owned a restaurant in Winchester Bay.  They also owned a seafood cannery and were active in Oregon, Washington, and Alaska crab and salmon fisheries.  Jeannie and her husband were always active partners in their workaholic lifestyle.  In 2001 they moved to Hereford.  Jeannie kept active running a successful eBay business.

Jeannie was a loving and compassionate person with a special place in her heart for animals, especially dogs and horses.  She was well known for her personal drive and enthusiastic love of life in accomplishing whatever she set her mind on.  She was also known for her love of cooking and fro bringing people together with hearty meals.

Jeanie is survived by her husband of 50 years Ron Armstrong, her two children; Heather Walton, a U.S. Naval Officer currently stationed in Gulfport Mississippi, and James Armstrong of Portland, Oregon, her grandchildren; Meagan Walton of San Diego, California, and Kelsie Dewater of Coos Bay Oregon and a great granddaughter Keannalee Dewater of Coos Bay Oregon.  Jeanie also leaves behind her sisters Phyllis Howing of Athens, Georgia and Judy Peppel of Stevensville, Maryland.
